Adrenaline (epinephrine) | A hormone released by cells in the adrenal glands (and some neurones) in response to stress. Adrenaline brings about the "fight or flight” response, e.g. increased heart rate and blood sugar levels. Adrenaline also prolongs the action of muscles and increases the rate and depth of breathing whilst simultaneously inhibiting digestion and excretion.
